Paul grew up in the Highlands of Scotland in Tomintoul, a tiny village of 300 people near Glenlivet in the heart of malt whisky country. Growing up, Paul was an avid soccer player, playing at the youth and senior levels for semi professional clubs before attending Brunel University in London. After completing his undergraduate degree in sports sciences and management, Paul was encouraged to enroll in a post-graduate exchange program between Brunel and the United States Sports Academy on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, where he completed his Masters degree in Sports Management.
Paul had just completed a development assignment in Athletics at Brunel University in London while completing his Masters degree, when he migrated to Portland to join a start-up sports agency and sports career education company. Paul developed the original curriculum for the company, helped grow the business and became a partner before joining SLU in 2002. After Paul joined SLU, his was an evolving role that started with identifying opportunities to grow and develop the business, while overseeing representation of the agency's professional athlete clients. Today, as co-owner of SLU, Paul's role revolves around managing strategy, operations and talent business affairs.
Paul lives in the Portland area with his wife Susan and sons Andrew and Alex, and can often be found spending his free time chasing steelhead with a spey rod or walking around Oregon's golf courses.
